Guinea Pig Babies Soon!

March 6th, 2010

Finally after many months of hoping for babies, Hebe will be giving birth hopefully in the next few days….the father is Blue Storm, a very handsome Slate Blue Satin Merino Boar, very kindly lent to me by the lovely Jason & Clare at Yarrow Valley…..this will be my first litter of Merino’s as her first litter born 15 months ago were all coronets!

Depending on how many she has there may be some babies available for new homes at the beginning of May!

The Lune de Neige Cavies part of this site will be moving soon to have a space to itself and the Cosy Cavies site will focus on Cagewear only. We hope to have a bit of a refurb and this should make ordering easier for customers. Until this happens you can still contact me regarding guinea pig availabilty through this website……Please see the Guinea Pigs for Sale section to view the Conditions of Sale.

The Snuggle-OO™ Has Just Got a Little More Cosy!

September 11th, 2009

The snuggle-OO is my own design concept based on an igloo shaped house. It is designed to house two guinea pigs for those who are inclined to snuggle together. It is also great for a mother and her babies to have a secure and private place to feed and sleep.

It comes in the regular cotton outer and fleece inner, a double fleece version and now an ultra cosy double fleece with a layer of 9oz wadding sandwiched between, perfect for the cold days which will be with us all too quickly. I have some new patterned fleece fabrics which will be added to the fabric gallery soon. Below are pictures of the Ultra Cosy Snuggle-OO in Black & White Cow Fleece and plain black inner fleece.

Cat sized snuggle Sac!

July 26th, 2009

I now am able to make larger items after sourcing larger supports for the arches to keep openings, erm open!
This is a cat snuggle sac which I made for Rebecca. The stuffed pink cat model unfortuanately isn’t life-size but gives some idea of size. This particular snuggle sac is big enough for two cat to snuggle together and has 9 oz wadding in the base for added feline comfort.

Snuggle Sacs for Hedgehogs

July 18th, 2009

Su asked me to make some snuggle sacs to accommodate her hedgie friends. She wanted them wider at the entrance but shorter in length than the regular Guinea pig snuggle sac, due to the shape different between the two!

Very kindly Su has sent me some pics of her gorgeously cute Hedgehogs enjoying their new cosy hideaways!

Co-ordinating Cagewear

June 20th, 2009

I have an obsession at the moment with browns and greens, clothes, homewear and cagewear! So I was delighted to make Charley a matching set of a Snuggle-OO and ramp tunnel, for some pampered piggies….don’t you just love co-ordination!

By sheer coincidence whilst writing this post I just got this email from Charley:

“I just got the tunnel today we put it in and 5 mins later the were up and down it they love it and they love the Snuggle-OO.

Thank you sooooooooooo much
Charley”

Thank you Charley, its always great to hear that piggies are enjoying their cagewear!

Bye Bye Doris & Daisy

June 10th, 2009

Pixie’s babies left for their new home yesterday evening. I say babies, but at the age of 9 weeks and 4 days they were nearly the same size as Pixie! They have gone to a fantastic new home where I’m absolutely sure they’ll be spoilt rotten and live a life of luxury. Pixie now has Honeybee to keep her company and a new snuggle tunnel to play in.

The Guinea Pigs Who Refused to Use Their Ramp ~ A problem Solved!

May 3rd, 2009

Rachael had a problem, she has a two tier hutch but her little madams, Disney and Paris, decided that they didn’t like the ramp, even with much coaxing of favourite treats they still refused to venture into the bottom of their hutch.
Rachael obviously wanted her piggles to have more room to play and frolic so she asked for a tunnel to be made specifically to fit the ramp. Disney and Paris have a Snuggle-OO which they adore, so it was fingers crossed that they would be tempted by the fleecey tunnel…. I made a tunnel which was 32 inches long with 4 supporting arches and vecro sewn to the underside, I sent Rachael the sticky parts of the velco to attach to the ramp to keep it secure and in position whilst Disney and Paris travelled through.
I’m very pleased to say it has been a great success and Disney and Paris are now happily using their ramp and have lots more space to exercise, although it sounds as though they’re getting lots of exercise just running up and down the ramp!

Bye bye boys

April 19th, 2009

Well Lotta’s boys have gone to their lovely new home today, I’m sure Joe and Emily will enjoy having them around and they’ll get heaps of attention.

Indigo is missing having his playful youngsters around, so it will be another cage shuffle soon.
