Guinea Pig Babies

Bye Bye Doris & Daisy

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Pixie’s babies left for their new home yesterday evening. I say babies, but at the age of 9 weeks and 4 days they were nearly the same size as Pixie! They have gone to a fantastic new home where I’m absolutely sure they’ll be spoilt rotten and live a life of luxury. Pixie now has Honeybee to keep her company and a new snuggle tunnel to play in.

Bye bye boys

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Well Lotta’s boys have gone to their lovely new home today, I’m sure Joe and Emily will enjoy having them around and they’ll get heaps of attention.

Indigo is missing having his playful youngsters around, so it will be another cage shuffle soon.

Pixie’s Babies are Here!

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Pixie’s babies finally arrived on Friday 3rd April, exactly 3 weeks after Lotta’s trio arrived.
She had 3 pups but sadly the largest was stillborn.
The other two are doing really well and Pixie is being a great mum. Both babies have roan colouring and spikey hair just like mum, and look nothing like their dad Indigo!

Lotta’s babies update

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Lotta is being a fab and attentive mum to her brood of three. It’s lovely to have small babies again, you forget just how small they are when they first arrive. They are all enjoying their snuggle-OO, and are becoming braver every day exploring their cage and nibbling the tasty fresh veggies. A few photo’s at the age of 3 days.

Lotta’s babies have arrived!

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Lotta gave birth to three healthy mini pigs this morning. All seem to have curly coats, and crests.
The black & white one is the largest weighing a very healthy 120g, the black white & gold 102g and the gold and black 74g.
More photos will be added in a few days when they have all settled. We’re just waiting for Pixie’s babies now.

Bye bye babies part 2

Monday, February 16th, 2009

The remaning babies have now found a new home! I’m so pleased that ginger and black face have gone together and have Jemimas baby for company too :)
They have gone to a lovely experienced piggy owner who lives very near, and I hope Jenny will be very happy with her new additions.

We’ll be expecting some new arrivals next month, Lotta the curly otter has been running with Pablo the choc and cream coronet.

And Pixie my roan abysinnian has been together with Indigo my Lilac boar. I’t'll be interesting to see what we get from these pairings as it’s not going to be at all obvious!

Ginger & Black Face available again

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Unfortunately the home that ginger and black face were destined for can no longer take them, so they are available once more. They are lovely confident girls and are just like their mum! See the for sale page for more info & pictures.

Bye Bye Babies

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Well two of Jemimas babies have now left and are making their way from Southport to their new home in Liverpool to live with Jacqui and Teegan. They are now named Spotty and Stripy and will have a fab new home with lots of love and cuddles. Teegan decided that she wanted the lilac/white sheltie, rather than the lilac coronet, so I have one lilac coronet still available….she is provisionally known as Ingrid (see for sale page), as she is very similar to Astrid who is staying at Snowmoon cavies.

Choccy has a name!

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Well, I have finally decided that ‘choccy’ is to be called Florence, after searching through various brands of chocolate (she was nearly Hershey!) I’ve decided she needed a feminine name rather than one related to her colour.

The name Florence was at one time top of the list for my daughter Esmé,  when she was a bump she was called ‘Flossie’; so as it’s no more human babies for me, just piggy babies, I’m using up all the names I had for potential children (Iris & Hebe…..not Pixie lol!)….and yes, we did have Pablo, Hugo and Indigo on the list for Otto before he was born (note the  ending in ‘O’ connection there)

Just because she’s so lovely I must put another picture of Florence here.

The time has come

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Well the time has finally come; Hebe and Jemimas babies are old enough and big enough to leave.

Astrid has joined the ranks of the forever piggies and has been given her own page. One of Hebe’s babies will also be staying but I am still undecided whether it will be ‘chocolate’ or ‘black face’. The choice is a hard one, ‘Chocolate’ looks just like her dad Pablo, except she has no cream stripes, and ‘black face’ is like a coronet version of Hebe with the same personality traits. They will remain without proper names until the descision is made as naming them makes it harder to part with them…I may need someone to decide for me, ‘Black face’ has been added to the ‘for sale’ page so I guess if some one falls in love with her the descision is made for me.
